"I enjoy learning, design, and the challenge of simplifying the overly complex—improving the way things work." - Ephra
I’ve always been curious about how things work—and how they might work better.
That curiosity has shaped a career spanning learning and development, organizational communication, instructional design, process improvement, change enablement, and creative strategy. Across healthcare, federal government, nonprofit, and mission-driven organizations, I’ve spent more than 15 years helping people make sense of complexity, build capability, and turn ideas into practical solutions.
While much of my career has been rooted in learning and instructional design, my work has increasingly extended beyond the design of learning experiences themselves. I’m particularly interested in the systems surrounding people and performance: how organizations capture and share knowledge, develop their people, navigate change, improve processes, create meaningful employee experiences, and build environments where people can grow and contribute.
I tend to notice connections others may overlook. Give me a complicated process, an organizational challenge, or an idea that hasn't quite taken shape yet, and my instinct is to ask questions, understand the larger system, and figure out how the pieces might work better together.
That same curiosity extends well beyond my professional work. I enjoy exploring technology, design, photography, gardening, agriculture, craft, and just about anything that gives me an opportunity to learn something new. I've also consistently made volunteering part of my life, contributing my skills to churches, nonprofits, environmental organizations, and community initiatives.
Over the years, those seemingly unrelated interests and experiences have become an unexpected advantage. They’ve given me a broad “knowledge bank” that I regularly draw from when solving problems, developing new ideas, or seeing possibilities that aren't immediately obvious.
My work tends to sit at the intersection of:
Learning & Talent Development — designing strategies, experiences, and resources that help people build capability and perform effectively.
Organizational Development & Change — helping organizations think through systems, processes, culture, communication, adoption, and the people side of change.
Knowledge & Performance — simplifying complex information, improving processes, capturing organizational knowledge, and designing practical tools that help people do their work.
Communication & Design — translating ideas into clear, thoughtful experiences through organizational communication, content strategy, visual communication, and brand development.
Strategy & Problem Solving — stepping back to understand the larger organizational challenge, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping move ideas from concept toward implementation.
My academic background reflects that same intersection. I hold a Master of Science in Organizational Communications, Learning and Design, an MBA in Executive Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
Ultimately, the common thread across my work is fairly simple:
Whether that means designing a learning strategy, improving an organizational process, helping people navigate change, strengthening the way knowledge is shared, or developing an entirely new idea, I’m energized by work that leaves people and systems better than I found them.
